Golden Triangle tour was something that was not in our plan actually. We just wanted to book a week’s holidays and were checking the options in Delhi as we had never gone beyond Mumbai so far from down south. That’s when the tour operator suggested Delhi Agra Jaipur Tour packages. He initially asked us if we could extend our holidays by a couple of days more so that he could arrange a more elaborate tour of these golden cities. We gave in as the idea seemed quite interesting. 3 great cities in 10 days were something interesting so we asked him to come up with the itinerary. We did not want to visit the museums except for the railway museum which would interest the kids in the group. So we were booked in Delhi for 3 days, then will spend a day and night in Agra, and then will be in Jaipur for the next 3 days and be back in Delhi to complete the golden triangle tour. We were a group of 15 people from our family with 3 kids 4 senior citizens and rest of us were cousins and our respective spouses. It was a lot of fun as we all arrived in Delhi tour packages from Chennai and Mumbai around the same time. We were booked on a night flight so that the next day morning onwards we could start our tour. We were all picked from the airport and dropped at our 4* hotel which was a very comfortable place. Since we had so many rooms booked on the same floor, we spend some time in the lobby chatting while the others freshened up and fed the kids. We were all excited about our Delhi tour packages that started the next day and had no idea how it would go.
Day 1 - Delhi’s Monuments
We started our tour with a visit to the Balaji temple as the driver realized we were all south Indians and that’s one place they took the southies always. The Birla Mandir was also nearby and the early morning temple visits made the seniors quite happy. Our day-1 of Delhi tourism started with a visit to India Gate where there were some special guests that day and we witnessed the ceremonial parade they performed in remembrance of the gallant freedom fighters that lost their life. The driver picked us all up and stopped the car for a few moments in front of the Rashtrapathi Bhavan next. A couple of us got down and took some pictures and then moved past the Parliament House. My kid and my cousin’s elder one were around 10 and they both were excited to see the places they were learning in their school. The 3rd one was barely 1 and she kept everyone busy throughout the trip with her cute tantrums and dances. We visited Gandhi Smrithi, Indira Memorial, Raj Ghat and the Red Fort that day. We did not want to hurry the trip since we had a lot of time and we wanted to let the children enjoy the places. The Red Fort was a memorable visit on our Delhi Tour Packages since the kids learned a lot about the freedom struggle and the people who got us independence from the museums there. While the seniors decided to take some rest in the shade, we all enjoyed seeing the smaller mahals that were spectacularly sculpted. The guide told us that the famous Kohinoor and many other precious stones adorned the walls of these mahals. There was restoration work going on in some of them. We ended the day of the tour with the light and sound show which amused us all alike. We all went straight to Connaught Place, did some shopping, enjoyed a live dance show there and had our dinner at one of the fast-food counters.
Day 2 – Museum, Lotus Temple, and Qutub Minar
Our 2nd day of Delhi Travel packages went visiting the Railway Museum which the kids really enjoyed. Our next destination was Qutub Minar which was an amazing sight. The kids had learned about the Iron Pillar and were excited to see the tall minar and the iron pillar. There was a smaller incomplete minar nearby and also a well which was closed now. The premises were very well maintained with green lawn and shades for the tourists to relax. The guide explained many things in the Qutub Complex that we never knew earlier. We next visited the Agrasen Ki Baoli which got popular with the movie PK. The place was almost in the ruins and it was basically a stepped well which was used to collect water. The idea behind the steps was to make sure every drop of water was easily accessible to the people and the place was often a meeting place for celebrations and festivities. We took a lot of pictures there standing on the steps. Our next destination on Delhi holiday Packages was the Lotus Temple which turned out to be the most beautiful and serene place even though my niece was in no mood to enjoy as we did not let her run around the meditation hall. We set her free in the garden for a while where the 3 kids enjoyed running around. We next visited the Garden of 5 Senses since we had a lot of time left for the day. The kids enjoyed the garden a lot. It was a totally refreshing experience for all of us. By evening, it started getting crowded and we slowly backed out to reach back out room.

Day 4 – Agra via Mathura
On the 4th day early morning, we started on our Agra trip on Delhi Agra Jaipur tour packages from Chennai. On our way, we visited Mathura which was Sree Krishna’s birth place and the temple was truly beautiful. We did some shopping there and bought a lot of Mathura Peda. We reached Agra a little before lunch time and checked into our hotel which used to be a palace earlier. We had our lunch and set out on our tour of Taj Mahal since we wanted to see the epitome of love in the daytime as well as during the sunset when it looks all the more beautiful. It was truly marvelous and we felt bad that Begum Mumtaz Mahal could not see for herself this beautiful and extravagant structure built by Shah Jahan in her memory. Taj Mahal is beyond descriptions. Our guide took us around the grand symbol of love and we were out gazing at the setting sun soon. The fountains and the structure looked stunning in the evening lights.

Day 8 – Elephantastic, Tuk Tuk Tour
Our 8th day was a much relaxed day with a visit to the Elephant farm by Elephantastic. Some of us enjoyed the elephant ride while the elders enjoyed the calm and green area around. Few of us took a Tuk Tuk ride around the city and the kids enjoyed it a lot. We spent the evening at Choki Dhani with a lot of live music, dance and the puppet show. We were all happy that the kids were able to stay entertained without any gadgets there!
